Hi, I’m Phillis Mutembete PMHNP-BC/FNP-C— a dual-certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner PMHNP and Family Nurse Practitioner
When I first started practicing as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, there were moments I questioned whether I was truly prepared. I remember the fear of making the wrong decision, not knowing what medication to choose, and second-guessing myself after patient encounters. At one point, I almost walked away from what is now one of the most fulfilling jobs I’ve ever had.
What changed everything for me was mentorship.
Having an experienced mentor who guided me through real-world psychiatry helped me build the confidence and clinical clarity that school alone could not provide. That experience inspired me to create MentorBloom NP — the mentorship I wish I had when I started.
My goal is simple: help new PMHNPs feel supported, confident, and clinically prepared so they can grow into safe, capable, and confident psychiatric providers.
